Aimee Morrison is a psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner at the University of Alabama in Birmingham Hospital. Aimee holds a PhD degree in basic medical sciences pharmacology from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. Her post-doctoral training began in 1998, in macromolecular crystallography at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Her post-doctoral training in free radical biology began in 2000 at UAB. She was promoted to instructor and then research assistant professor from 2006-2009. Aimee joined the tenure-earning faculty in 2009 as assistant professor. She was also a principal investigator on research projects involving post-translational protein modification by electrophilic compounds. She left this position at the end of 2015 to attend nursing school and begin a second career as a nurse practitioner in psychiatry.
