Ami Goodnough DNP, NP-C, ACHPN

Dr. Ami Goodnough is the Clinical Director of Palliative Care at Alegis Care, a home based complex and chronic disease management practice. In this role, she oversees the implementation of palliative care across the continuum of serious illness management. Prior to this role, she led clinical operations in Alabama and Florida for Aspire Health, a nurse practitioner based, in-home palliative care service. In this role, Dr. Goodnough oversaw clinical operations, directed quality outcomes, and provided oversight of clinical interactions of the nurse practitioners across the states. Dr. Goodnough has spent the past 10 years focused in end of life care as a Palliative Care consultant across many settings, both inpatient and outpatient, and holds specialized certifications as Nurse Practitioner and Advanced Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse. She was assistant professor at The University of South Alabama in the Adult Gerontology Primary Care and DNP programs and directed the Palliative Care- Specialty Track. Her passion is improving quality of life for patients with serious illness and educating others to do the same. Dr. Goodnough is currently a fellow in the Duke Johnson & Johnson Nurse Leadership program.
