Geraldine (Geri) Kanne is a nurse practitioner with over 20 years of experience. She currently works with Duke University Health System where she sees older adults in the outpatient geriatrics specialty clinic. There she developed and runs a multidisciplinary falls prevention clinic. She also works with Duke's accountable care organization, where she collaborates with skilled nursing facility staff to review patients transitioning from the hospital to skilled nursing and also works with primary care providers to increase their expertise in caring for older adults. She has been certified as a gerontologic specialist since 2018. She was recently accepted as a fellow in the Duke Advanced Practice Provider Leadership Institute, where she is creating a program to improve education and treatment around osteoporosis. She received her BSN degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her MSN degree as an adult nurse practitioner from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
