Dr. Heather Jones is a clinical assistant professor and co-program lead for the FNP and adult gerontology primary care nurse practitioner programs at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. As a clinician, educator, and scholar, Dr. Jones' work focuses on integrating telehealth into NP education and optimizing telehealth delivery. Her experience as a certified telehealth provider and educator has allowed her to leverage this knowledge into teaching and serving the profession. She provides telehealth services in her clinical practice and has integrated and taught telehealth in advanced health assessment at a large public university for the last several years. In addition, she has assisted in scaffolding telehealth throughout the primary care NP program. Dr. Jones has worked on quality and process improvement projects in telehealth assessment and has also developed curricula for a national post-graduate NP fellowship established through an academic-practice partnership. Currently, she serves as chair of the National Organization for Nurse Practitioners Telehealth Committee.
