Jennifer Pettis MS, RN, CNE

Jen Pettis is the director of strategic alliances at the Gerontological Society of America (GSA). At GSA, Jen directs the development and production of strategic alliances programs to further the society’s mission and strategic goals. Jen has over 30 years of gerontological nursing experience with her primary focus having been on long-term and post-acute care nursing. Since joining GSA in April 2022, she has led the expansion of GSA's obesity and brain health work, including the convening of the roundtable discussion that informs this presentation. She is a member of the Alzheimer’s Association of Northeastern New York board of directors and an active community educator for the Alzheimer’s Association as well as a volunteer lead trainer for AARP’s disrupt aging classroom program. In 2020, Jen was recognized by the National Hartford Center of Gerontological Nursing Excellence as a Distinguished Educator in Gerontological Nursing, and, in 2021, she received Sigma’s Amy J. Berman Geriatric Nursing Leadership Award, an international award bestowed upon an individual who has demonstrated contributions to collaborative practice through involvement in interprofessional teams and defined commitment to gerontological nursing.
