Jonathan Newsome PharmD, BCGP

Dr. Jonathan Newsome is a clinical associate professor in the department of clinical sciences at The University of Texas at Tyler Ben and Maytee Fisch College of Pharmacy. He received his doctorate in pharmacy from Xavier University of Louisiana in 2008. After graduation, he completed a PGY-1 community pharmacy residency with Xavier University of Louisiana. Prior to coming to UT Tyler, Dr. Newsome served as an assistant professor at Hampton University School of Pharmacy in Hampton, VA, and as an associate professor at South College School of Pharmacy in Knoxville, TN. Dr. Newsome’s professional interests center on ambulatory care and health disparities. His primary focus is assisting underserved populations in achieving optimal medication therapy. He currently maintains membership in the American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists and the National Pharmaceutical Association.
