Melissa Kramps DNP, GNP-BC, NP-C

Dr. Melissa Kramps is currently coordinator of the pulmonary hypertension program at Lenox Hill Hospital. She has experience working with patients with memory disorders. She began her career as a critical care nurse after earning her BSN degree from Fairfield University. While working as a nurse in the medical intensive care unit at New York Presbyterian Hospital, she was honored with the Eileen Gong Weiner Award for Most Compassionate Care. She graduated from Columbia University School of Nursing with her Master of Science degree in adult and geriatric health with a subspecialty in oncology. She was recognized with the CAPNA Award for commitment to primary care at graduation. After working as nurse practitioner on the geriatric consultation service at New York Presbyterian Hospital, she joined the Columbia University School of Nursing as an assistant professor of clinical nursing. She was the program director for the gerontological nurse practitioner program and taught in the adult program as well. Clinically, she was an attending nurse practitioner at Columbia Advanced Practice Nurse Associates, the school’s NP-led primary care practice. Dr. Kramps earned her DNP degree at Columbia and is currently working as a portfolio advisor there.
