Michael Nelson, PHarmD, is the director of health economics and outcomes research for Sunovion Pharmaceuticals Inc. in Minnesota. He earned his bachelor of science and doctor of pharmacy degrees from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Nelson began his career in pharmacy as a clinical pharmacist in the hospital setting at Rochester Methodist, United, and Midway hospitals in Minnesota. He moved into a managed care role as a clinical program manager at a PBM affiliated with UnitedHealth Group. After several years he transitioned into a health economics and outcomes research role before joining Sunovion in 2014.
