Michelle Moccia DNP, RN, ANP-BC, GS-C

Dr. J. Michelle Moccia is an adult nurse practitioner and the program director of Michigan’s first-ever senior ER center, which opened in July 2010 at St. Mary Mercy Hospital. In 2019, the hospital received ACEP level 1 geriatric emergency department accreditation – the eighth in the United States. Dr. Moccia has devoted more than three decades of her nursing career to emergency room nursing, nurse training, and partnering with EMS agencies, nursing facilities, community groups, and senior care centers to promote the wellness and special care needs of older adults. She is the director of the senior wellness clinic performing comprehensive geriatric assessments. Dr. Moccia is a past president of GAPNA and currently serves on multiple GAPNA special interest groups and committees.
