Nimi Tarango is the Lead Nurse Practitioner in the Advanced Heart Failure Heart Transplant and Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic at University of California, San Francisco Medical Center. She is also the Clinical Nurse Coordinator for the UCSF Amyloid Center. She has 20+ years of experience taking care of cardiac and heart failure patients. Nimi serves as the Sub-Investigator in many research clinical trials in the area of heart failure, cardiac amyloidosis, and pulmonary hypertension.
She is also an Assistant Clinical Professor in the UCSF School of Nursing and has trained and precepted dozens of NP and CNS students over the past 15 years. She is part of the UCSF Heart Failure Readmission Task Force and is an active member in many national organizations including the American Association of Heart Failure Nurses and the Heart Failure Society of America. She is the proud recipient of several prestigious nursing awards including: the Excellence in Cardiovascular Nursing Award, the Preceptor of the Year Award and the DAISY Nursing Award.
