Dr. Steven Gambert is Professor of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Maryland School of Medicine where he is Associate Chair for Clinical Program Development and Director of Medical Student Programs in the Department of Medicine. He is the Director of Geriatrics at the University of Maryland Medical Center and the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center where he directs a Geriatric Trauma consultation service. He is a graduate of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in NYC and did his residency training in Internal Medicine at Dartmouth Medical School. Following this he did a Fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism and Gerontology and Geriatric Medicine at Harvard Medical School/Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. He is an internationally recognized expert in geriatric medicine having authored over 400 articles and research reports on a wide variety of topics including successful again, endrocrine aspects of again, trauma care in the elderly, and geriatric education. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Clinical Geriatrics, the clinical journal of the American Geriatric Society. He was elected a Fellow of the American Geriatrics Society and Gerontological Society of America and was elected a Master of the American College of Physicians, its highest honor. His most recent book, Be Fit for Life: A Guide to Successful Aging is now available on Kindle in addition to being available in print form.
