Dr. Tracie White is an acute care nurse practitioner and certified RN first assistant. She has spent her career caring for surgical patients and has an interest in improving surgical processes and patient outcomes. Her DNP project utilized telehealth visits in the immediate post-operative period to prevent readmissions in patients with new ostomies. She is an assistant professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing, teaching in the adult-gero acute care nurse practitioner program and is the coordinator for the RN first assistant subspecialty.
