Dr. Vicki Groo, PharmD is a clinical associate professor in the Departments of Pharmacy Practice and Medicine, Section of Cardiology. She received her BS in Pharmacy at the University of Toledo then went on to complete her Doctor of Pharmacy at The Ohio State University. She then completed a 1-year residency in Cardiology and Critical Care at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Groo spent the beginning of her career as a clinical pharmacist in MICU, CCU, and cardiac step-down units. She then transitioned to cardiac ambulatory care. She is currently working at University of Illinois Hospital and Health Science System as a clinical pharmacist in the Heart Center with a focus on disease management and anticoagulation. She is actively involved in cardiovascular quality improvement and research, including being a study coordinator on multiple large-scale cardiovascular clinical trials.
