Essentials for APRNs in Post-Acute and Long-Term Care

Graphic of Essentials for APRNs in Post-Acute and Long-Term Care

This 6-hour workshop prepares APRNs who are new to these settings or have an interest in PAC/LTC.

Although gerontological APRNs receive advanced education and training to independently assess, diagnose, and treat older adults, few have received formal training on the nuanced care within the post-acute care (PAC) and long-term care (LTC) settings.

During this workshop, you will receive education on the management of acute and chronic conditions, working with interprofessional teams, CMS regulations, billing and coding, the infrastructure and culture of PAC and LTC, including APRN leadership opportunities.

Teaching strategies include lectures, case studies, small group discussions, polling and role-playing.
