The CDC recommends routine vaccination throughout life to prevent vaccine-preventable diseases. Older adults are especially vulnerable to communicable diseases and are at higher risk for illness, complications, and disability. APRNs have a duty to understand the role and necessity of recommended vaccines and need to be able to provide comprehensive vaccine information.
