Ben Inventor PhD, CNP

Dr. Ben Inventor is an Assistant Professor in the College of Nursing at Rush University in Chicago, Illinois. His primary teaching responsibilities are in the direct entry master’s program and in the Adult Gerontology Doctor of Nursing Practice program. Dr. Inventor began his nursing career in the Philippines and then continued his clinical experience in Chicago as a staff nurse in long-term care settings and inpatient geriatric psychiatry before becoming a geriatric nurse practitioner. His research interest is in managing neuropsychiatric symptoms of dementia. The long-term goals of his program of research are to develop and test interventions to appropriately manage behavior and psychological symptoms of dementia, reduce use of psychotropic medications, and build skills of staff to provide person-centered dementia care in long-term settings.
