James Lawrence PhD, APRN-BC, FAANP, CPS

Dr. James Lawrence is in his fifth consecutive year presenting at GAPNA's annual conference. He is a former member of GAPNA's Board of Directors and the first male to serve a full term on the board. He is twice the recipient of the American Association of Nurse Practitioner's (AANP) state Nurse Practitioner award in clinical excellence, and five times recipient of GAPNA's national awards. He currently serves on GAPNA's Leadership Special Interest Group. In 2009, he was inducted into AANP as a fellow in and in 2012 he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of Nursing at Seton Hall University. Dr. Lawrence resides in Atlanta, Georgia. For the past 3 years he was employed at the Atlanta VA Medical Center where his clinical focus included pain management in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Currently, he is employed at PractitionerLink as Director of Clinical Education and Lead Nurse Practitioner and also serves on the nursing faculty at Georgia State University. He is president and founder of Aging Successfully, LLC, and in this role has traveled to China, Germany, Ireland, England, and throughout the United States consulting on a variety of issues related to aging.
