Carol Sams has been an adult nurse practitioner since 1998 and a registered nurse for 35 years. !n prior NP roles, she worked extensively with vulnerable populations including patients with neuromuscular disorders, the frail elderly, the uninsured, and the homeless. In her current role, she focuses on primary care for "super-utilizer" patients to improve health outcomes, while reducing hospitalizations and emergency department visits. House calls are one aspect of her "Red Carpet Care" coordination.
