Elena Schjavland MS, APRN

Elena Schjavland is an adult and geriatric nurse practitioner. After retiring as Commander, US Navy Nurse Corps in 1997, she worked as a critical care nurse practitioner at Hartford Hospital and Yale New Haven Hospital, in Connecticut. She has crafted a geriatric advanced practice called Keys2Memory, which derivers care dementia patients and caregivers using a house call strategy. She is a PhD student at the University of Connecticut. Her program of research includes: early dementia diagnosis, dyad caregiver relationships, Chronic Sorrow, and family-centered models of care for persons with dementia.
