Jennifer Serafin has been a certified gerontologic nurse practitioner for 20 years. She has experience working with older adults in long term care settings and assisted living facilities, as well as in their homes. She works for Kaiser Permanente in South San Francisco in the Home-Based Palliative Care Program. Jennifer is also an assistant clinical professor for the department of physiological nursing at University of California, San Francisco. She is the chair of the GAPNA Foundation Board of Directors, which awards grants for research and clinical projects. She has also served on the GAPNA Certification Task Force, which has created the Gerontological Specialist Certification Exam for Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) as of 2018.
