Associate Professor of Medicine, University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry

Dr. Suzanne Gillespie is an associate professor of medicine in the Division of Geriatrics/Aging and an associate professor of emergency medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She is board certified in internal medicine, geriatric medicine, and hospice and palliative medicine. She completed her undergraduate degree with honors in nutritional science at Cornell University and began her career in health care as a registered dietitian. She received her medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine and completed her residency and fellowship training at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Dr. Gillespie serves as the director of education in the Greater Rochester Nursing Home Quality Consortium. She is co-director of the integrated aging curriculum for Rochester's School of Medicine and Dentistry. Dr. Gillespie is medical director of the Community Living center in the geriatrics extended care line of the Canandaigua VA Medical Center, where she is also a lead physician of their palliative medicine and hospice care program and lead physician for patient safety.
