Dr. Kanah Lewallen is an assistant professor at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. She has over a decade of experience in training healthcare professionals in the care of the older adult. She has trained nursing staff in both acute and post-acute care, as well as in graduate school nursing curriculum. She is currently participating in a geriatric workforce enhancement project at Vanderbilt University Medical Center that is focused on training caregivers on Alzheimer's and related dementias. In addition to her full-time teaching position, Dr. Lewallen works clinically at local SNF's and collaborates with the Center for Quality Aging at Vanderbilt University Medical Center on research in the care of the older adult.
