Marcia J. Walmer DNP, RN, PMHNP-BC, LCSW, ACSW

Dr. Marcia Walmer is a Clincial Assistant Professor at the Universtiy of Missouri School of Nursing and Health Studies in Kansas City, Missouri, where she is co-faculty in the psychiatric mental health nursing track. Her area of expertise and clincal focus is in geropsychiatric nursing and mental health care. She also has a private practice providing mental health services in the long term care setting.  She has practiced for over 30 years in the field of psychiatry and geropsychiatric mental health as a social worker, advanced practice nurse, and nurse educator. Dr. Walmer was honored as the Kansas City March of Dimes Behavioral Health Nurse of the Year and has served as former co-chair of the GAPNA Geropsychiatric Nursing Special Interest Group.
