Dr. Cassandra Vonnes is the geriatric oncology NICHE program coordinator at H. Lee Moffitt Research Institute and Cancer Center. Her 25-year NP experiences include acute care and outpatient nephrology and cardiovascular medicine. She was inducted as a fellow of the American Heart Association for her contributions in cardiovascular medicine. In 2019, Dr. Vonnes received the Oncology Nurses Society Excellence in Care for the Older Adult with Cancer Award. She was also one of three nursing and allied health investigator finalists at the International Society of Geriatric Oncology in Geneva, Switzerland, in November 2019. She is board certified as a geriatric nurse practitioner, an advanced oncology nurse practitioner, and in healthcare quality.
