Dr. Donna Hamby is an acute care nurse practitioner with over 25+ years of experience managing the complex clinical and nursing needs of patients in acute, transitional, and post-acute care facilities. She received her Master of Nursing degree from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing and her DNP degree from Texas Christian University, Harris College of Nursing and Health Sciences. Dr. Hamby is a clinical associate professor at the University of Texas at Arlington, College of Nursing and Health Innovations, where she serves as teaching faculty for the NP master's and DNP/PhD doctorate programs in healthcare policy. Dr. Hamby was director of clinical services with a statewide geriatric practice in Texas prior to going to UTA. She had a lengthy career as an ACNP with Health Texas Provider Network in post-acute and an earlier career with Vanderbilt University Medical Center, first as a RN, then as an ACNP in the cardiology division.
