Dr. Gregory Marler is an assistant professor and co-coordinator of the nursing simulation laboratory at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, and a critical care nurse practitioner at Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He is board certified as an acute care nurse practitioner. Dr. Marler has been actively engaged with GAPNA for a number of years and has lead the acute care special interest group. He has been active with developing the acute and emergent care toolkit, presented for multiple GAPNA conferences, and continues engagement with the local GAPNA chapter. Dr. Marler also continues to practice with the American College of Chest Physicians in the difficult airway task force teaching advanced airway techniques in the simulation laboratory. Dr. Marler has studied the presence of weight bias in the acute care settings as part of a DNP to PhD program at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA.
