In order for healthcare providers to be meaningful contributors to health equity and avoid activation of unconscious biases that encourage “isms,” application of evidence-based strategies that mitigate bias-influenced decisions and health outcomes is critical. This session explores why cultural intelligence is the keystone to personal and organizational development of bias management strategies for encouraging intentionality in gaining knowledge and understanding of cultural differences, planning for multicultural interactions, and demonstrating flexibility in cross cultural situations when necessary.
