The long-term impact of sarcopenia and its progression on the older individual are important to the geriatric nurse practitioner. Being aware of the specific interventions that may improve the condition of sarcopenia as well as the latest nutritional science data to support specific interventions in care can lead to improved outcomes for the geriatric patient.
