260 - Diabetes Management in the Elderly

This general session focuses on the issue of diabetes management in the gerontological patient population. A review of the progression of diabetes over time, issues of pharmacotherapy in the elderly, and current pharmaceutical options for treatment is explored. The importance of dosing adjustments as necessary for
the elderly population and the role of insulin in treating diabetes is also shared.
