Mary Powell PhD, ANP-BC, GNP-BC, CDE

Mary Powell is on the faculty at Neumann University, located in the Philadelphia suburbs, where she is an associate professor and Director of the Graduate Nursing Programs. She graduated from the Chester County Hospital School of Nursing in West Chester, PA, which she credits for planting the desire for lifelong learning and service to both patients and nursing. Mary is the Project Director of a HRSA Nurse Workforce Diversity Grant and has received funding to increase workforce diversity for eight consecutive years. Dr. Powell currently maintains a clinical practice with patients one day at a week at the Neumann Nursing Center, housed at the Chester Senior Center, and works primarily with an elderly African-American population who have multiple co-morbidities. Mary is married to Rick who works for Habitat for Humanity in Philadelphia and they are parents to 2 adult children. For fun, Dr. Powell enjoys knitting, walking, and kayaking.
