Joseph L. Micca, MD, is a private practice physician in Atlanta, George. He graduated from Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, North Carolina, where he received the Hewlett-Packard Award for "Top Medical Graduate 1991." Dr. Micca completed an internship and a residency in internal medicine at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Board certified in internal medicine, Dr. Micca has been in private practice in Atlanta since 1994. His clinical practice has included medical directorships in subacute and long-term care, hospice, EMS medical transport, and hospitalist services. His recent research interests include treatment of behavioral disturbances in patients with dementia, metabolic concerns pertaining to atypical antipsychotic medications, treatment and prevention of osteoporosis, preservation of function in dementia, and elderly pain response in osteoarthritis.
