This session assists advanced practice nurses caring for the older adult with abnormal liver chemistries in the acute and outpatient settings. Evidence-based guidelines are discussed to explore diagnostic clues, appropriate management, and ongoing follow-up after acute and non-acute presentations. Patterns of injury portrayed in abnormal liver chemistries along with etiologies are explored and case studies encountered in practice are used to enhance learning.
