Heartbreaking for all involved, that is the word I would use to describe the experience. I will never forget the first resident we had that died, very frail and helpless she weighed 80 pounds on a good day. Very feisty but you had to love her. It was just heartbreaking to see her succumb to the virus. I just wanted to pick her up and hold her. Also, seeing the nurses in full PPE sweating under their garb, coming to work every day with fear and uncertainty, yet trudging ahead to care for these frail people we have all come to love.
Hello to my friends and colleagues!!
Our Communications Committee would love to hear from you about your experience in the conference this year! Where are you from? Why did you decide to join us this year? What do you hope to get out of the conference experience? Do you also wish that we could be in Hawaii, like we planned in 2020???
Reach out and let's connect - your comments could be highlighted in future issues of the Newsletter or on GAPNA's Social Media pages!
Thanks,
Amy Rose Taylor, Co-Chair
